Emergent Deals - The Process

SAFEGUARDING YOUR ELECTRONIC DATA

Emergent Group continually audits our processes and procedures to ensure the highest levels of service, quality, and compliance for our clients. Our services include sterilization and/or destruction of all recovered data storage devices including hard drives, magnetic tapes, CDs and other mediums. We are NIST 800-8812 and DOD 5220.22M compliant (unless otherwise requested in writing by the customer).

Our practices include multi-pass hard drive erasure and shredding/punching of any wiped disks. We also provide certificates of destruction and a full activity report for auditing compliance.

These detailed reports contain:

  • Version numbers
  • Drive model information
  • Serial numbers of physical disks
  • Service technician names
  • Operation types performed
  • Number of overwrites
  • Date & time of operation
  • Final results (pass or fail)

* Our processes maintain compliance with HIPPA, Department of Defense 5220.22-M, Sarbanes-Oxley, FACTA, and many other US and European IT standards.

THE E-WASTE RECYCLING AND DISPOSAL PROCESS

Our goal is making your organization’s electronic waste management project as seamless as possible. We accomplish this task by utilizing our proven recovery methods and keeping you informed throughout each stage of the process. In most cases, we complete projects within 30 days of submission.

TRANSPORTATION (Days 1-3)

After receiving your request, our logistics team goes to work arranging for pickup within 3 business days. Emergent handles the entire transaction from packing and loading to transportation inside of our fully enclosed, locked container trucks. Equipment is continuously secured from your departing location through arrival at our Austin, TX processing facility.

EVALUATION (Days 4-28)

Upon arriving at our facility, we assign each shipment a Lot ID that corresponds to the purchase order. We barcode all equipment pallets under the master Lot ID linking each component to the master record. Every asset is then tested for functionality and usability. Repairs are made to serviceable equipment while others are evaluated for resale or other applications.

DISPOSAL (Days 29-36)

Any items determined to have value are offered for wholesale or through select e-commerce partners – whichever produces the highest return. Elements determined to be obsolete or unserviceable are then sorted and sold to a downstream R2 certified recycling partner.

Emergent maintains copies of all certification documents for downstream vendors per SERI R2 requirements.

REPORTING (Day 30)

Emergent sends all asset tags and supporting documentation to the customer for auditing and logging purposes. Furthermore, since all items are immediately tagged and assigned a Lot ID number upon arrival, assets can be quickly located at any time during the recovery process. These tools provide up-to-date reporting and historical analysis of both past and current projects.

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

For added peace of mind, Emergent Group is an ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified company. These designations ensure all workflows are safe and comply with OSHA guidelines. All employees undergo annual safety training and are mentored and evaluated to further develop a safe working environment.
